PEA, BNG & NVC Surveys

We have an experienced in-house team of ecologists ready to assist you with the full spectrum of ecological survey requirements. The starting point for many projects is a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal (PEA). This type of survey provides an initial baseline site audit and will highlight the need for any further survey work.  It is usually supported by a third-party data search. We pride ourselves on the expertise of our in-house botanical surveyors, who are all experienced in the survey and identification of a wide range of species and habitats. In addition to baseline botanical audits, we can deliver detailed UK Habitat Classification condition assessments and National Vegetation Classification (NVC) Surveys.

The Environment Act (2021) places a statutory requirement for most developments to deliver a minimum of 10% Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). We have responded to this new ecological challenge through a major focus on training and certification of our consultants. With in-house River Condition Assessment (RCA) accredited surveyors we are well equipped to deliver the comprehensive service our clients expect.
